Since October 1, Simac has a new CEO. Eric van Schagen has handed over his position to his daughter Maartje. During a big party in the Efteling, Maartje was symbolically handed the key in front of 1500 Simac'ers.
Maartje van Schagen has been working in the family business since 2009. In recent years, she has been the general manager responsible for the largest subsidiary, Simac IT NL bv. She will continue to fulfill this role, in addition to the CEO position at the Simac-holding.
New generation
Eric van Schagen took over the CEO role in 1989 from his father Mac van Schagen, the founder of Simac. With reaching the age of retirement, he thought it was high time for the new generation. However, Eric is not stopping yet. Over the next few years, he will continue to support the board as a board memberholding board.
